Blindfolded Black Belt Wins at Kakuto Challenge

Daniel O’Brien is a coach at Triad Martial Arts Academy in Cullman, Alabama. According to FloGrappling, O’Brien is “a talented no-gi grappler who took silver at the ADCC 2016 North American Trials and made it through to the semifinals of the light heavyweight EBI.”

Winning a single match while blindfolded is tough enough, but submitting another black belt followed by a brown belt is just plain awesome. That’s just what O’Brien did at the recent Kakuto Challenge.

Some people online have found O’Brien competing while blindfolded to be disrespectful to the competitors, but I’m good with it!

Some would ask, why would O’Brien even WANT to compete blindfolded? Because he can … because he can.
