Being bullied is a very real part of today’s experience for the millions of school aged children all over the world.At Aces Jiu Jitsu Club, so much of what we focus on in our kids classes is empowering our young students with the tools to stand up for themselves and face their problems with confidence and strength.
The more attention we can bring to this issue, the better it will be for every child out there experiencing trouble at the hands of a bully. That’s why when this video popped up in my Facebook feed this morning, I had to share it.
Mac Lethal is an underground Hip Hop legend who gained internet fame by releasing videos of him performing original songs with entertaining topics. He recently decided to use his large platform to bring a spotlight on the bullying epidemic.
Mac Lethal also makes a suggestion that we love! He suggests that parents enroll their children in martial arts. We could not agree more. However, we’d like to take this a step further and say that parents should enroll their children in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). BJJ is the ultimate equalizer and the techniques we teach are meant to defeat bigger, stronger opponents through leverage and intelligence.
